CHRISTMAS FIGURINES OF THE JOHANNA VON CALL COLLECTION

26 November 2022 - 16 April 2023

The Johanna von Call Collection is one of the largest private collections in our region and can be regarded as an impressive testimony to the diversity of representations of the Infant Jesus. The collection, which has been growing steadily since 1983, contains depictions of the Infant Jesus dating from the 18th to the 20th century, mostly from South Tyrol, Austria, Bavaria and Italy.

LUIS STEFAN STECHER

UT PICTURA POESIS

2 December 2023 - 28 April 2024

Luis Stefan Stecher expands views, breaks down categories, lives and thinks between worlds, combines opposites. He creates poetic painting and colourful poetry - his philosophical world of thought permeates his work just as much as his humane view of the great contexts of human life. In his paintings, he creates inner worlds full of signs and symbols. Through an interactive interplay of painting and poetry, Stecher lends his works depth of content, intensifies sensory experiences and arouses emotions.
The solo exhibition at the Hofburg Brixen entitled ‘Ut Pictora Poesis’ is dedicated to Luis Stefan Stecher's complete work of art and thus presents not only the artist's thematically diverse paintings, but also his graphic and poetic oeuvre.

ROBERT PAN

ALCHEMY OF COLOURS

31 May 2024 - 24 November 2024

The two-part special exhibition shows a representative overview of Robert Pan's oeuvre, while other works by the artist are integrated into the permanent exhibition in the historic building, creating an exciting dialogue with the Baroque furnishings of the imperial and episcopal appartments. This unusual combination opens up a dialogue across epochs: Pan's experimental abstract compositions, which focus on forms, colours and structures, interact with the strongly symbolic works of the Baroque masters. The exhibition thus not only offers the opportunity to trace Robert Pan's artistic development, but also invites visitors to experience the visually appealing contrast between different forms of artistic expression.
